Transcripts are something like duplicate marks sheet issued by the university.

You either fly back to India to contact the admin office, or send one of your friends, to talk to the university office.

How can anyone say if original degree is enough or not unless he is told of the purpose. If you were applying for a job, I would say that should be enough - why would anyone need a transcript?

How much time does it take to get it? Depends on university to university, whether or not the person seeking the service has some 'patti' or not, the person who goes and meets the office clerk, the way in which he pays coffee money and how much, or the amount of charm she is able to show to get the work done, etc. etc. etc.

I hope your brain gets some rest with all this - or is it more confused than ever?:p

Yep, they look like marksheets. You have one per year. It shows all ur marks in all the semesters for that grade.

For Engineering colleges, affiliated to Universities, some colleges provide them as part of their service.
Others, u could type and print them urselves, take it to ur principal, who can get them verified and they would seal it with the college seal.

I had used http://www.yourmaninindia.com/ and their service is good. I got my Transcripts through them. Price was $55 USD (but it may be different depending on your university location)

PS: For this process you need to send the Original Marksheets to them (Once you agree to pay their quote)
