Hi CD's,

How is Shepard/Yonge area in GTA ? I am talking about the area in viscinity of Shepard TTC station.
Is it an expensive area ? Are there apartment/condos or basements available in this area ? Indian Grocery stores etc ? do any of our CD's live in this area ?

Thanks

One of the best places to live I would say. Away from downtown, but still very lively. Far from down town, but still only a 20 minute ride. Mississuaga, Scarborough, York region - everthing is withing 25 minutes drive. Lots of food available. Indian Grocery store not too far. Great condos (expensive too)

Hi Texancanadian,
I am living @ Sheppard\Donmills, 15 min away from the area u mentioned, and this is a very good area, there r a lot of appts that r available for renting, however I am unaware of condos, this area is in line with the upper limits of the rents now going in TO.
For good Indian grocerry shoping I go to Overlea(Thorncliff), about 30 min bus ride from my place @ Donmill\Sheppard

Hi Sanrs,
This area is indeed very fine, it is right opposite the fairview -mall, subway, and library, I am feeling v r in centre of the city all the places r within 30-45 min of bus\ subway ride.
I am paying rent of 1210 for a 3BR appt, a 2BR appt was 1100(when I rented), it is probably lesser now, they r also offering 1 mth free, please bargain on it , u may receive a deal, I was in a hurry to rent when I LANDED , AND HENCE THEY EVEN CHARGED ME FOR THE 15 DAYS I moved in mid september

sheppard-yonge is mytopchoice when it comes to location to settle down in toronto. however i found that many of apartments were not well renovated out there(e.g. paint job not properly done, floor tiling uneaven) so you got to inspect the apartments that u want and then decide.

i dont know about condo's i am sure that they would be well renovated. There were some apts with reasonable rent available in that area.

its an great place- good subway connection, gym, shops, movie theatre. abt indian store i dont know, i would recommend doing bulk shopping once or twice a month from an indian area.

Thanks everyone. The reason I want to move to that area is because my company's office is right in that area and maybe I can avoid to spend on car insurance/gas etc.
Peacock is Shepard/Downsview 15 mins away by what ---> train, bus, walk, car ?
Thanks
