Hi,
Nowadays Comwave is advertising a lot in cable regarding their iphone service to call anywhere in the world at $9.95 per month only.
Could someome share their experience about iphone?
I understood that a special iphone unit to be used at receiver end also.
Any other things need to be done? All our metro Indian cities are covered under this network?

Thanks

CAD 0.227 would mean 22.7 cents a minute, right?

Yes, you are right. however do not forget that there is a VAT price too in the grey column.

for UAE,
United Arab Emirates CAD 35.8 cents, VAT price CAD 41.2 cents

I guess sprint canada has better rates than skype out. And that too from a landline.

I am using VOIP (from Vonage) for sometime now. The voice quality is good. It lies somewhere inbetween that of cell phone and landline phone. The basic plan (about $20 pm) gives me all the frills like call display, call waiting, call forwarding, voicemail, etc. and 500 minutes free for US and Canada. And it is portable. I think it is not a bad deal.

I was wondering if sound quality is also affected by traffic on the line. Say if somebody is a heavy downloader music and movies, would it affect the sound quality of VoIP as less free bandwidth would be available?

In the router I have, the normal sound quality is obtained at 30 kbps. One can adjust to higher sound quality levels by selecting either 50 or 90 kbps. I am using 3 Mb bandwidth and so far I am yet to experience any degradation with heavy demand on bandwidth. There is another feature that I like in VOIP. If there is any network problem the call can also be forwarded to some other phone of your choice, say your cell phone number.
