I am going from toronto to ottawa for usa visitor visa interview and am planning to go 1 day earlier there.
Did anybody stayed in hotel at ottawa near the usa embassay? Pls. share your experience and provide me with the name of hotel, and your travelling experience.

Indianguy..it would be better if you stayed at "The Jail"..Its right on Nicholas street, downtown..abt 3-4 blocks away from Sussex street, where you have the US embassy. Of 'cos you have options for hotels also...but you cant beat the price for the youth Hostel...
Its by Hosteling International.... If you want some desi food down there...try out Nagina...Its on rideau street

Why need a hotel this is what i did take the last night bus from toronto Greyhound i think it is around 11 or 12 it reaches ottawa around 6 ,there is big waiting area with all amenities ,take a taxi from the gate of this complex to US embassy 7 Dollors 10 minutes,visa appointment was 9 Am
got back passport same afternoon took the bus at 4Pm was back in toronto same night, but this was all for H1 I dont know about same day service for Visitor Visa.

Thanx for your response. I also want to know what's the exact intersection for the usa embassay and if I get there by greyhound bus, which stop do I've to get off at ottawa.
Also, plz. let me know, do i get locker facility at ottawa so I can keep my cell phone, and other things there?
And would also appreciate if you all provide me with don'ts and do's for the usa interview.
