Hey Guys
What's up, hopefully in April I would be landing in Canada (Vancouver). I don't know nobody in the city, any of you guys can give me a some tips on where to stay (Less expensive place) for maybe a day or two. Since I am currently on H1B I would be going back to chicago after doing the necessary paperwork.
Also, if the destination on my landing papers is Vancouver, Can i land in Toronto?

Also, about the funds, do I have to carry the funds with me. Will the immigration officer ask to show traveller's check etc....

why go to Toronto. you can also take a greyhound bus or drive upto detroit and complete the formalities in Windsor. Windsor is a relatively small space and things could be done quickly and at lesser price.

Did you apply from Buffalo or New Delhi? I am also on H1b and applied in 2002 from Delhi. I don't know how it's going to work but I believe I shall be immigrating from US, give a choice.

Please share some details.....
