Dear Experts;
I am a new landing immigrant in Montreal with my wife and two kids. My wife is pregnant and the baby is due in a few days. I am going backhome as soon as the baby gets the canadian passport. I am just wondering about how the proecedures are like when the baby is born for getting the passport and how long would such procedures would take?

My friend did the same in Jan 2005, in Ontario. He said it took him one week for getting all the docs: Birth Certificate, Canadian Passport, Entry of child into mothers exisiting passport.
However you have to pay urgent fees, and show a proof of travel to get a priority for obtaining all these docs.

As I told u b4 his info holds good for Ontario, but I think it wud be very similiar for Quebec.
