Hello,
Has anbody any insight to custom clearance. My ship have arrived and I have the Good to follow list(stamped when entered at customs) and Bill of Lading. How do I go about it in getting the goods.
Do I ask my movers to come to customs warehouse at a partiular time? Does any body has any idea how much the movers will charge. Can anybody recommend any mover who will do? I will be taking the goods to Mississauga and the appartment is on 15th floor.
Any help appricated
Thanks
Jay
In case u have shipped it urself without the assistance of an agency, then u need to take the docs to the customs dept (office is close to the airport) and any agent will be able to give the directions. Once stamped, it is better to give the job to an agency as they know where to go first. I got it done thro an agent (Polaris) and they charged me $ 700 for a 20' container. Any agent here would be able to guide u thro the process.

Good luck to everyone
What Balaji has advised is correct - I am just surprised to note that you have not already lined up things and the goods have landed in Canada.
At this stage, I will not be surprised if clearing and freight agents try to take advantage of you since you have to take a decision very very fast in order not to incur demmurages at the port!
God save you!

Goods clearead. it was easy. The shipper give the document and and gave me directions. 1. First to go to Customes to clear the goods., No Charge at Customs. Got stamp after show good to follow list.
2. went to the bonded warehouse and collected the Goods. ( Costed 150 , as I picked up 5 days late, each day cost $25) .
Thanks to all of you
