Hello Everyone,
I have been in Canada for past 1 month and have not been able to successfully secure a decent sales/marketing job. I have extensive experience (over 15 years) in the field - however only in India. I worked in New Delhi as a Regional Sales Manager (Entire North and West India) for a Fuji Alliance selling photosynthesis chemicals and equipments, X-ray and photo films.

I have decent computer skills - MS office product such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access, and Working knowledge of SAP.

I will highly appreciate if someone here could find me a lead or opportunity that can help build my career.

I am in Brampton but relocatable anywhere in GTA

15 years sales exp. in India as a Regional Manager should be able to find you a decent entry level technical sales job in Canada. I will recommend that your resume should not be more than 1 Page. Highlight your front line sale skills like cold calls , telephone appointments, strong credit controls, meeting decision makers etc. than team management and policy making. Once you get a job and gain some experience you can elaborate the above management skills in your Canadian resume.

After a year in your job you might realise that it is far better to be a front-line rather than a Manager in Canada.

I know some Tech. Sales guys in Canada who easily make an average 70 K plus.

The buttom line is try to apply for an inside sales position (support ) first. They are easier to get and they prefer people with sales experience.

The bottom line is apply to hundreds of companies in your area of experience.

Try the following: apply to chemical companies and distributors of those products. There are 500 of them just in the GTA !

Aply to distriutors. Find those companies and apply there. If you do not know how to get to those and apply to them use company like http://www.weapplyforyou.com" rel="nofollow">LINK . They can send out your resume and custom cover letter for these positions I think to 500+ companies.

Just don't think chemicals. Attack Pharmasutical industry, Their suppliers. Plastic industry, Theri suppliers and distributors.
