We were booked to visit Toronto just 2 weeks down the line. This morning I saw that Jetsgo has closed shop. I am still trying to find out what this means for us. WestJet and AirCanada are laughing all the way to the Bank - the fares WestJet quoted us were three times the amount we paid to JetsGo (and they said they are almost sold out for our dates).
Does anyone know:
1. Whether we can receive refund on our tickets or are we going to get a few cents off each dollar? We spent almost $700 on tickets for the family.
2. Is there any government authority one can approach? There was a Government number listed but the phone number is busy since morning.
At this point the only options open to us are:
1. Cancel the trip (including hotel reservations), thankfully rental car is cancellable without any penalty.
2. Drive down. This would be a 2 day drive - anyone has any idea of the road conditions likely this time of the year?
Can anyone suggest any other options?
First thing, if you have booked ticket using your visa or master card, call the card company and they will reverse the charges for the reason "No Value Received"
As Desi#1 suggested.. if you have booked using credit card or travel agent you can ask them for refund or alternative ticket.. but i heard that if you have booked online directly from JetsGo then you are on your own..
whatever be the outcome.. it would be best not to let it spoil your vacation.. since you r renting a car anyway.. why not drive to Toronto.. I am sure u will come across many beautiful places on the way..

I have booked online from JetsGo using my Visa Card. I received (and paid) the Card statement also.
Can I still cancel?
well why not call your VISA card provider.. and ask them what to do..
usually they r open 24*7..

I just did - he said since I have already paid the bill it needs to go through their dispute department (not their Cust Service), which is open 9-5 Mon to Fri.
I am reading in the newspaper that People who purchased tickets upoto 24 hours before Jetsgo filed C11 will get their refunds.
Credit Card companies already seem to be on top of this.
The airlines was selling tickets a few hours before they went down.
I hope they pay.
Also read that last year they had filed aa lawsuit against westjet accusing them of espionage (hacking into their internal computer system and finding out their most profitable routes).

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
