I am applying to sponsor my husband under the spouse category. He is currently residing in US, working under an H1 visa. He has previously resided in UAE and India.

From the immigration application, I understand we have to get police clearance from all the places he has resided in since the age of 18, so this naturally includes India, UAE & US. However, under the Table 1 in Guide to Immigrating [IMM 3999], neither India nor UAE is on the list of countries for which police clearance is required.

Could someone please advise if police clearance is necessary from India & UAE?

Though it is not required: But it's always better to provide the original Police Clearances, if a person lived in those countries more then six months.
