Hi
Can anyone tell me, what are the things to do(like opening bank account, Social Security or whatever number etc) after landing in Canada. I am just planning on landing end of the month and stay for 2 business days and come back to US. Whatever tasks which need to be done, please let me know?

IMO just two things:

1/. The PR card which an immigration officer at your port of entry will help you apply.

2/. Your Social Insurance Number card.

Avoid opening a bank account if you intend to stay an earn out of Canada for a while, you may be liable for income tax on your US income.

Maybe I am missing something - if the OP is not going to live in Canada after landing, why are all these things required?
What good is the Health Card if you aren't even living in ON?
What good is the SIN if you aren't working in Canada?

Maybe the PR Card is required - although for those who can drive across from the US, even that is not required.

ooops... Are there different rules for different provinces? As I guess, I applied for Health Card within 10 days of my arrival!

The SIN card is mailed to an applicant's address within about 30 days of applying.

When a PR who lives out of Canada returns to Canada, having a SIN helps at least in quickly opening a bank account and to start working (if offered a job).
