I am here in vancouver for last 7 months. recently I had been to Toronto and I feel that Vancouver is much much better city. The weather is better, life is more 'lively' here, it is a much more happening place. Haven't seen rest of BC so can't comment on that.
Thanks to all you Vancouver folks for your valuable inputs, esp Hope with her long detailed over view. Appreciate the efforts undertaken to make it easy for newcomers like me.

Hope, you mentioned you have moved a few times and in Canada too, could you provide dos and donts about local moving as also indicate the expense while being aware that it would depend on the volume of stuff to be move.
Moving is painful.If you have a lot of bulky stuff, then you had it!
Expenses depend on how you move (By movers , by yourself-,by U haul , by fed-ex-, UPs,Local,international, etc, etc...) and how much you move!
If you are moving through movers, go through a mover, who have moved some of your friends...Or ask around..........
So, it all depends on various factors.
Less luggage: More comfort!

Does that change ur plans of staying longer in Canada or permanently??

Thanks Hope, was actually looking for a more informative reply in terms of indicative / approx dollar cost of moving, say, moving a 2 / 3 BR furn within Vancouver.
Will be greatful if you could share costs incurred by you IF you have moved within Vancouver and also mention which of the stated (U-haul, Fedex, etc) option did you opt for.
