I had sponsored the visit visa of my mother - in-law who lives in India. She is a widow, but has a son and daughter living in India. She is 66 years old.
My mother in law did not visit Delhi personally. Instead she sent her grandson to Delhi to use the "drop box" facility
Her application for a visit visa was declined on a few grounds. The two reasons the visa officer wrote for this were:
A)The visa officer was not convinced that the applicant would return to India when her visa expired, and
b) The assets she shoed in our bank balance were not "suffecient to support her stay in Canada. ( We had shown $ 7500 as assets). We incidentally own a house in Mississauga.
My mother in law will be re applying for a visit visa shortly. I would greatly appreciate if I can get advice as to how to convince the visa officer about the doubts mentioned above.
I am willing to pay for legal advice if needed.
Thanks.

More and more such cases.
Maybe they think that every old age person who comes here is going to apply for immigration while on Canada.
and they just might not be wrong.
After all, I had done the same thing.
