Hello Experts ...!!
I am applying for Canadian Immigration as I have enough 67 points. But my age is under 21 for now so I have only 8 points for age factor.
I am going to be 21 in coming November. I know I can apply for immigration under age of 21 but my question is "Can I update my age points from 8 to 10 after when I will complete my 21 years in November? (Just in according to make my case stronger) " So I will have 69 points in November
I do not want to waste 6 months so it can make my immigration faster.
However, I am told by someone that CIC officer will consider your age according to the date when you apply for immigration and you can not update your age points later.
Thanks in Advance

Hi,
QUOTE from the link******
4.8 What is a lock in date?
A lock-in date is the date on which a visa office receives a completed application form, with full payment of the processing fees. The Canadian Courts have deemed the lock-in date to be the date on which factors such as age must be assessed. Thus, no points will be lost if the applicant's age changes during the processing of the application.
END QUOTE ********
According to the immigration law, your points for the age get locked on the date of submission of your application. Section 81 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations quoted below are clear that the points on the date of submission are the ones taken into account.
( http://laws.justice.gc.ca/en/I-2.5/SOR-2002-227/132941.html#rid-132942 )
81. Points shall be awarded up to a maximum of 10 for a skilled worker's age, as of the date of their application, as follows:
(a) 10 points for 21 years of age or older but less than 50 years of age;
(b) 8 points, for 20 or 50 years of age;
(c) 6 points, for 19 or 51 years of age;
(d) 4 points, for 18 or 52 years of age;
(e) 2 points, for 17 or 53 years of age; and
(f) 0 points, for less than 17 years of age or 54 years of age or older.
I however believe, that the interviewing officer MAY consider change in your age (making you eligible to get extra 2 points) at the time of interview (if you don't get a waiver) and making a decision on your application.

you may be awarded 10 points by the time an officer really reviews your file.

Ohh .. !!
I thank you every one for your prompt reply.
I am completely confused ...
I would like to have opinions from experts "Whether I should apply for P R before the age of 21 or wait 6 months more to complete 21 years ?"
your age at the time of appliction will be considered. Either you wait for November to come or waste your money and time in an attempt to raise your points on already applied case. Think wise-pasha
