Hi Rajan
Yes it is absolutely true that there has been noticeable change in India, specially with private sector participation.
Phone connection- You can get it within 30 minutes if you go for reliance or tata or other private service provider. Not only in cities but most of the small towns as well, as these are wireless phone work on CDMA technology. In canada it took me more than 20 days to get line. Bell canada guys were on strike. Very surprising
Banking: I had great experience in banking. Here it takes 4 hrs to open an account. ICICI bank account opening takes hardly half an hour with their ready made bank opening kit. Plus you will find ATM counters at ever corner of the roads. Here there are lots of hidden cost in every thing and in banking here you have to maintain minimum balance even for checking account or pay high charges for self service and full service.
Malls and picture halls: Lots of malls have come up and multiplex picture hall and lots of things are happening now a days.
Intercity highways are being developed with four lane highways. For most of the cities four lane highways are complete. Mumbai Pune is a6 lane highway is truly world class.
The problem area is still the areas controlled by govt which hurts. Jammed city, buses, trains, and other services provided by govt still hurts.
However, other good thing happening is that India is slowly opening up and in next 10 years when most of the reforms are in place, there will be sudden growth in india's economy. Presently we are maintaining 7% growth and after 10 year it will touch 9-10% which is really great growth. Mckinsey has said even if India grows at 6.5% then by 2030 it will third biggest economy in the world after US, China.
I am not sure what will happen to Canada by that time. Probably more and more immigrant coming in here. Labor rates going further down from 8$/hr to may be 6$ / hr. Life becoming still more difficult as no major inverstments are happening in this country. More and more lay offs can could be the future of this country.
All rich countries are now focussing there future investments in BRIC countries- Brazil, Russia, India and China.
So richer countries like US, UK, Canada would still get richer but all their operations and services will be in BRIC. Which means these companies would still have their HQ in US, UK, France but all jobs shifted to BRIC countries. The companies will go richer but people will go poorer as lacs of job at lower level will shift to these countries. Only top management will have good jobs and for lower level there might not be enough jobs.
BRIC is also forming its own Trade barriers to counter trade barriers of NAFTA, EU etc etc...
So it would be interesting to see the future which as per all belongs to ASIA.
It won't be surprising to see in next 10-15 yrs people filing immigration visa for INDIA and CHINA.
So good decision taken Interceptor. People will follow you in future.

I then decided to do some backward integration and started applying from here in other countries in Asia.
Finally I was given an opportunity by my old employer as he knew the scene in canada with almost comfortable salary.
He appreciated my Hardwork which i had done during my stay earlier and he welcomed me again..well may be people say that never look back but i would definately say " Always look back, may be somebody need you"
My analysis...
Canada is not of educated personnels...
If u want to settle in canada you sacrifice lots of things in life not for short period but for more than 5 years...(most case)
To my surprise while i was going back in same flight i found 2 more couples going back permenantly ...
I would not be often writing this to all as i may have limited access to internet due to busy schedule in my new professional position.
I would say ALL THE BEST for those who are there and SAYONARA ..GOOD BYE ALL...
If given chance in future ( if i get a job in my field) i will think of returning but not for Menial jobs any more....
Thanks god!!! I am out of it finally!!!
Interesting Analysis. The guy (Interceptor) who posted earlier saying he's leaving Canada for good and says he's not recommending any one to immigrate to Canada (posted in 2005) is back in canada and lives in Etobicoke (in 2007) and is posting in Canadian desi to meet couples friends!!!
So can I assume he(Interceptor) wants to be in Canada but doesn't want others to come here?
Hi bhaskararayan, you have done an awesome analysis of the post by interceptor. There are many people around who enjoy in demoralizing others and create a feeling of negativity. He himself is back in Canada after leaving (as mentioned on the above post). Though it takes time and effort to settle in Canada, BUT its not impossible. I know some of the CD's here who are working in very reputed companies and are always helping others. They too have found jobs in short period and instead of demoralizing people they always help them when ever asked for.
Anyway bhaskararayan once again nice analysis. Keep it up.......
tihs guy interceptor seems to be guy from anti immigrant group. who has a knack ofusing emotional words to discourage others here.
It is in black and white.. as to what living and working in Canada is.. If you do not know.. you must have asked your friends.. even before you immigrate. As is rightly mentioned.. people with less communication skills decide to go back. But the very reason they immigrated to Canada was they were not successful in their own country.
This guy.. has stayed for three years or more.. Do you know why.. because he must have decided take his citizenship.. Trust me.. they yearn for this Citizenship.
Yes.. it is true..they do come back.. and honestly they will never be successful.
They need to improve their skills and know how to face life.
Karais
Hi Dear Bhaskararayan and Karais
As you are aware( I hope f you are aware) that every body have freedom to express their opinion with in the limits. So what is wrong with Interceptor in expressing his experience and opinion about life in Canada.
Bhaskararayan, I pity with your analysis and by the way are u a Immigration lawyer? Immigration lawyers want to put rosy picture about Canada, so that they can get more clients. I think you are one of those blood sucking immigration lawyers.
before making any comment, just check the immigration statistics and find how many of immigrants hv success stories in terms of percentage. Very few success stories. You people quote success stores of few people and try to hide failure stories many.
Hi Karais, do you think that only communication skills will get you job? Of course, u will get low paid jobs like Call centers and Wall marts etc as customer support rep. If you are happy with $10 / hour odd jobs, then yes you are successful and your communication skills got you such a beautiful job( ).
People who forced to work for 10 to 15 hours in odd jobs to meet their bills, talks big when they come to India on short trip( hahahaa, poor Canadian NRI). he thinks that people at back home does not know what they are doing in Canada. hahhaaa, dear brother, you are wrong. we know what you are doing there in Canada.
So if you want to fool your self, carry on, but do not thick that you can fool others by your artificial Canadian accent.
