I presume most of the desi’s came here through immigration lawyers or consultants. Just to fill that application form people have spent rs.75000 to rs. 15000. were those consultants of really any use to you? how many among you regret to have those “consultants”?

I didn't hire anyone for my immigration case. But I know four families who used immigration "consultants" (I advised them several times not to go for that option but they didnt listen to me).
All four families were honourably ripped off by these "consultants"
Only one of them could get through the immigration, though they were a pretty high scoring case, and could have gone thru by themselves.

Ignorance & lack of information leads applicants 2 Consultants.
I did my own and advised 2 of my friends also2 do the same .All 3 of us qualified ....... I have come across 3 ppl who cudnt get thru despite applying thru Consultants .

Sometimes I have this feeling that Canadian Immigration System is the easiest to get thru, compared to other countries like US, UK, Australia, etc.
I dont want to offend anyone here, but I think those who cannot immigrate to any other country in the world, become immigrants of Canada!
I might be wrong here, but thats just my opinion...

I have a friend who prefers Canada to Australia as he feels that firstly it belongs 2 the Western Hemisphere and secondly the feel of being in N America & proximity 2 the US puts Canada on the top.
My personal advantages of migrating 2 Canada is that the place is more 'Immigratised ' than others as > 50% are immigrants hence u feel equal and not alienated .
However the job situation sores the equation .

.....when I applied way back in 2000, the internet was not so easily accessible, and hence lack of proper information flow. Now I feel that consultants are nothing but mere postoffices, forwarding relevant papers to and fro between the applicants and the embassy.
Atleast, my consultant (Abhi...) is a stupid postoffice and its owner Aj.. Shar.. is a grand old monkey.
