Ontario's Liberals steamroll Tories - Will this make impact on immigration?

Dalton McGuinty, the man who the Tories labelled as "not up to the job," has bounced back from a 1999 election loss to defeat Ernie Eves and become the province's premier-elect.

Dalton talked lot about immigration. He was favoring custom policy for Ontario for immigration that can exclude Toronto, being only destination of most of immigrant so that people also go to other cities.
I personally belive that this will be good for immigrants. Toronto is overcrowded and there are lots of other places where you can prosper.
Any opinions?

I think that the new immigrants have already realized this and have started settling down out of GTA. Last weekend, I was at Kitchener Hindu temple for Navratris and the place was over crowded by new faces. They all lived in Kitchener, waterloo and cambridge area and worked mostly in guelph. You can see the same scenerio in Hamilton/stoney creek area.
In my case, whenever my sister's family comes here, I would prefer that they settle down in GTA. On other hand, Kitchener is my wife's hometown and I can help them settle down there without any hassles.
But for the GTA desis who do not have people living in other smaller towns, will have hard time helping their friends/families settle down outside GTA.

Hi Friends,
Most of the new immigrants go after the jobs not cities. So, tell us that during election compaign what did they promissed to revive the economy. Also tell us how will this poltical change affect the job market for the new Immigrants??

None of them really talked about job market. The debate was mostly on tax cuts, tax increase, school funding, hospitals, hydro(electricity), health-care etc.
Yes, there was one of the item - the minimum wages from 6.85 to 8.00. I think Liberals had said that they will increase it gradually to 8.00.
I am missing anything?
