I came to know in late 2003 when I was planning to submit my PR application in Singapore and looking for some information on asian community in Canada. But I was able to actively participate only in early 2004.


Negative posters dominates this site, but I always like to see negative part first. So l liked this site and it was worth joining it.

I remember, there was a live web cam in a meeting and I joined it at 3AM from Singapore.

Being web savvy, I came across CD, as early as 2003. I found the site very informative and with the goal to help our community to settle in Canada.

Correct me if I my wrong, at the time of our 1st meeting at Chandresh's place in 2003, we had some 2000 online members, since then the members have increased by almost 700% in a matter of only 1 and half year.

This site was recommended by a friend of mine who's settled down in Canada. I had sent him an e-mail indicating that I was keen on migrating there and asked him how was the situation there in general. His reply was to think wisely before making a decision and suggested that I check out this site.

it was an eye opener reading the negative posts, but the good points do outweigh the bad. I must say that this site has been extremely informative on issues pertaining to Indian migrants. Its great to read the posts of individual experiences which makes this site unique.

All in all...Keep up the Good Work Canadian Desi !

I guess then I was the only one who just decided to check and see if there was a site dedicated to Canadian Desis and typed in \"canadiandesi.com\" in the url and pop it came!

And I am definitely glad I did that as partipicants on this site are very helpful to eachother in many aspects.

My story:

when i migrated from US to canada 2 years ago, i felt awfully alone.
i decided to create a desi club where all desis/desinees could mate..err...i mean meet , interact, and help each other out.

i decided to call it canadian desi and started out to register the domain. I was shell shocked to see that one such site already existed and was teeming with another 1 million desis
finally decided, if you cant beat them..join them

right now, i am working towards getting 5 stars and finally one day taking over this board for good...
