Does any one know if visa(visitor) can be rejected becuase of a problem in heart? We got echocardiography test done for my mother as advised by CHC subsequent to the the first medicals and the cardiologist has put in his report that she is suffering from congenital heart disease but since she is asymptomatic, she in a condition to travel and stay in canada for 1 year.
Would appreciate if somebody with any information on this can guide me.
Hi Harmeek,
I dont know what reason was for the re-exam or extensive exams but now that i think of it; My mother suffers from high cholesterol and high blood pressure so it might be similar to Vijay's case.
As far as I can tell, if medical fails you cannot enter canada and the reason for medical failing would be mostly for communicable diseases.
Us, South Asians have a dormant T.B germ inside us which makes us susceptible to T.B quickly.
Blood pressure - mildly elevated blood pressure is not a problem and considering the stress you are under it is probably expected
So high blood pressure might cause issues.
Lungs and Heart are a big issue. Note asthma is not a bar but they may ask for extra tests. They are extremely fussy about our lungs. TB is a very big issue.
Hope this helps a little.

Hi Harmeek,
Sometimes X-Rays need to be looked at again - happens because the technician is not trained enough, or you moved when these are taken.
Telling the visa authorities that you will take care of this is not going to make a difference because if you are not going to be a landed immigrant or a citizen you are expected to have travel and health insurance.
Thanks
