Hi ! I have migrated to Canada around 3 months back. I am looking for job in telecommunication sector. I have experience in Operations and Maintenance of Wireline network. I also have experience in Installation, commissioning and testing of Transmission equipments. I have tried almost every telcom sector co. in canada but without any success.
I'll be greatful if anyone can suggest or guide me how to proceed for my job search effectively.

Nice to see someone here from telecom. I am already in the process of migration, have got the file number. I think there should be several opening in this sector. I had been considered for couple of jobs in telecom, but not having work permit / PR , was rejected. I am in telecom from last 7 years, of which 5 yrs in middle east. I am fraud and revenue assurnace guy. Have worked in india, and couple of telecom in Gulf and presently too in the same field. You may check out monster.com, workopolis.com, headhunter.

Please also let me know how is the pay packages there in telecom, in your field as well as for a person who has excellent exposure and experience in the following area (Finance,Credit control, Fraud Managgement and revenue assurance, IT Billing ) I am associated in this area of telecom.

Thanks for replying Mr HM. To be frank, the job market in telecom sector here in canada is very tricky. When you search for jobs, you'll come across tons of them. And accordingly you you apply to some of them or all of them. But the problem arises after that. You don't get any reply from them. Its a fact.
I don't know what they want? i have even tried the consultant agencies. But no luck my friend.

So my advise, if you have decent job back home, don't even think in dreams of coming here. 'cause even if you get a job in your field, it'll be of entry level. Which means after messing around for more than 7 years in the your filed, you are at ZERO level. i am not dicouraging you but i m preparing you for the outcome.

You mentioned you have applied. last time I had the opprotuntity to talk to some people in this area and they had mentioned that there are over 700 companies in the telecom/ electronics area alone. The software sector was several thousand. Medical equipment companies 200+, Energy sector over 500.
