PMA,
Can you let us know the reasons why you returned to India in 2003 even though you had a job?
Thanks.

Knowledge is Power
Based on PPP (purchasing power parity) , India has 4th largest GDP, way above Canada.
According to Goldman Sachs, the same people who predict oil will go above $100, India will have 3 rd largest GDP in real terms in the 2050, trailing only China(at no.1) and the US at no.2.
Their estimates are
China 43 trillion USD
US 34 trillion USD
India 27 trillion USD
But that's way in the future. Who knows what will happen in between.
Just FYI, Canada does not appear in the top ten. After India comes Japan, Britain, Russia, UK,Germany, France, Italy all at 6 trillion and below. China, India and the US will be curve breakers.

Re the PPP claim, from the looks of it, many of you read newspapers and are up and up on world current affairs- so you must have read about India being no. 4 in PPP terms.
For the other statement on the future please visit:
http://www.gs.com/insight/research/reports/99.pdf
On page 4 you will see a graph which corroborates my statement.
You can toujours read the rest of it as well.
I read many articles and in the future Canada does not seem to appear on the radar. Is it because this kind of research is done mainly by US companies and we all know how and what the Americans think of us?
Just to let you guys know, I read somewhere an American synopsis of the Gomery trial and it claims that the Canadian politicians are just as "talented" as the Indian politicians. What that means I leave upto you as you guys are more familiar with Indian politics than I am.

I am not a math guy but I do believe 1 trillion is 66.67% approx higher than 600 billion not 40%. But I get your point.
Anyway, you're right about the predictions- I have already said who knows what's going to happen in between.
