have applied for PR skilled in june 2004. got file no in September. the embassy says it will take apprx 4 yrs for it to come through. i am 30 yrs old and single. it is frustrating to wait that long. i plan to study when i come anyway so if i apply now as international student for study permit will the embassy give me a study permit?? or will they refuse me visa as i have applied for PR. I am a manager in an MNC in Delhi and have travelled to the UK & USA(10yr B1/b2) in the last year so i am not a potential illegal immigrant. Pls advice. also if i apply to study in the US will the US embassy refuse me a visa because of Canada PR application???

No Amit.. I dont think there would be any problem. I got my study permit after having applied for the PR.

Thanks for the info auf. gives me hope. think i will apply this year then for 2006 session. where did u study? were u called for interview? most people i spoke too including the immigration consultants have advised that i would not get study permit. but since u are a living example, its great to get your info. thanks a lot.
