Hi all
I will be landing canada in few months.
Kindly reccomnd the good banks in which I can open Bank account.

Do you mean you wish to open a bank account in Canada before you arrive or after?

If before, check out HSBC. Be aware that there is quite a bit of paper work involved.

I plan to open bank account once i land..But before Landing canda i want to Know which bank to open account n all..
so things become easier once i land there.
As I will in canada only for 2 weeks.

Hi Roxy,

All banks in Canada are same. There are four major banks,

1. Royal Bank of Canada RBC
2. TD Canada Trust
3. Bank of Nova Scotia
4. Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce CIBC

Many other smaller banks like National Bank/PC Financial/HSBC/ICICI/BNP and few more. The most imp thing you have to keep in mind is access to banks. In the beginning you are better of with any of the four major banks since they have better ABM network.

I work with one of the major banks and help many new immigrants open their accounts as well as est cr history. It doesn't mean you have to choose that bank, but if you have any Q, pl feel free to PM me.

tell me one thing which bank do u work with.and which branch.
kindly give me yr bank address so that once i land up i shall contact u for seeking yr assistance in opening bank account.
What all documenst do u require for opening bank account.
proof of identofication or stuff...so that we can prepare before hand .

also, how much is the minimum deposit amount
what all documents required to open the account
what are the bank opening days and timings
how much they charge to issue a credit card

is it advisable to open seprate account for me and my wife or open a joint account with 2 atm cards?
