Hi , I applied for PR & hoping to get it by year end . I am diploma chemical engineer having 10 years experience in refinery & petrochemical industry . I inquired to some of my friends about job market for my field they told me if you do POWER ENGINEERING COURSE then chance to get good job is better . I request to all CD members to share your information/ knowledge about this course. My questions are as......
1. Who is eligible for power engineering course ?
2. Can I do this course online from abroad ?
3.Which is best course for DIPLOMA CHEMICAL ENGINEER to get good job in canada .

Hi DSD,
I am not sure about the power engineering course. Since you have a background in chemical engineering and experience in refinery/petrochemicals it would be advisable for you to concentrate your job search in the chemical engineering area.

This is a link for chemical companies in Canada. Do you have experience in R&D or in process engineering? You could visit the websites of the companies which are listed and search/apply for job openings. If you have good experience then some of the companies may be willing to hire you. Do you have plans to continue your studies in Canada?
I hold a masters degree in chemical engineering and I work in the biotechnology sector so I won't be able to advise you much about petrochemical plants in Canada. Nova Chemicals http://www.novachem.com" rel="nofollow">LINK is a major manufacturer of polyethylene. Alberta has a few petrochemicals/ oil companies so try to do some search on the internet for these companies.
