Hi,

My family will landing in Toronto in december 2005, I have two kids ages 13 and 6. I want to know how cold is Toronto in winter and what kind of warm clothes should I be prepared for?

I know its a bad timing but I do have a second option of landing in March 2006. Any suggestions please.

:)

In brief - December is not a bad month in Toronto.
Usually, it doesn't start snowing until the 2nd or 3rd week (Christmas), and even that snow is nothing compared to what follows in Jan - March.
It is of course quite cold at that time, and you will need layered clothing.

You can of course land in March.
Although it is severely cold in March, you will only be a month away from nicer weather, whereas in December you will be staring down the barrel of a long and hard winter :)

For clothing suggestions, please search the archives.

As far as i have seen, it gets pretty nasty in toronto during winters like -9 degs or -10 degs on some days, but most of the winters will be minuses....add little wind to that and little moisture from lake ontario, so it actually feels way colder than it actually is....
