This topic has been beaten to death. There is a perception all over the world that Canada is an extremely cold place for the most part. A lot of these questions seem to be about Toronto(regarding how cold Toronto gets). Let me say this. There are plenty of places in the US and for that matter in europe as well which are colder or as cold as Toronto. It is not that big a deal. If the cold is of such concern to people, they should choose other places to live.

Hi yellowknife and neerajj, I think both of you have forgetting that new members keep joining the CD and not everyone is so informed like you'll to know everything about a new place where they intend to settle down. If this topic was so beaten up there wouldn’t have been 1017 views, everyone knows technically how cold it is in TO, its just that on a person to person level we are looking for opinions and I believe that is the reason Garvo and BL (V. Good work Guys) made this site so that new comers like us are informed and gives us a platform to interact with the (ex) desvasis and new Canadians.

So cheer up and let it flow.

Hi Icecream,

Winter is cold here, I am here for last 10 years, but still do remember the first winter.

I would suggest you to buy stuff for winter when u come here. Also I would suggest you to buy a car immidietly after you come here, winter seems harder when you have to wait for bus & walk.

we will be moving to India soon though, so enjoy winter in Toronto & good luck.
