Can anyone tell me which Canadian universities offer online courses or online certification via distant education schemes - either over the Internet or as printed study material?
It should be a course or certification that someone can do from outside Canada, so everything should be online or over mail.
Thx.
British Columbia Open University (Now called Thompson Rivers University) has a lot of courses. Check out http://www.bcou.ca/
... and Yes! They are accredited.
University of Windsor offers some Long Distance programmes, as does University of British Columbia. Check out the following website for a list of Universities with Long Distance programs:
http://www.distanceedcanada.ca/
Please note that some courses / programs are offered only to people living in Canada. Most courses however can be accessed by people wordlwide. There is a significant difference between the fees charged for Citizens and Permanent residents of Canada and all other students. Hence it is important that you provide the Admissions office with proof of citizenship or landed immigrant status to qualify for lower fees. If you are a citizen or PR, you are eligible for lower fees even if you are not currently residing in Canada.
Hope this helps.
Best of Luck.

How much valueadd do these distance learning courses have?
Do they get us jobs for people who have just landed in canada on PR status with no Canadian experience?
If yes, what courses are more in demand?
Also, would doing these distance learning courses be better with prior work experience outside of Canada or doing a fulltime course in one of the universities?
If doing fulltime, how would it make a difference between doing in university and doing in a community college?
