Hi All,
I came to Canada (as landed immigrant) last year (first week of June, 2002). I had to return to India for personal reasons.
I am planning to come back to Canada during summer of 2004. I understand that I will need a PR card to re-enter.
Can I apply for PR card from India? I do not have my own address in Canada. Can I give a friends address instead? If yes, how will I receive PR card? I understand that we are required to pick it up in person.
I also understand that I can obtain a temp. travel document from Canadian Embassy in India. Will there be any problem to re-enter with this document, in case I cannot obtain PR card?
Thanks
AK
If you can't return to canada by 31/dec/2003, you'll need to contact the Canadian embassy. they will then determine whether you've lost your residence or not. If they determine that you've lost your PR, you'll have to appeal through a lawyer in Canada.
for more info about PR, please read in this forum.
