Hi Everybody
Can you give me your advice as what needs to be done?
I got my citizenship this month while i am currently working in US on EAD and Adjustment of Status (I-485) and have valid i-94 and Advace Parole to enter US.
After obtaining my citizenship, i have applied for Canadian passport next day and got my passport in a week. Now, i have to get back to work in US.
If i travel by car, what documents should i have to show at the border?
Since, canadian citizens do not need visa to enter US, just showing my citizenship card or canadian passport is good enough? Or do i have to declare at the border that my passport has changed to canadian passport and i am working in US on EAD and my status is I-485 and also do i have to show my Advance Parole document too?
If so, what will they do? will they stamp on my canadian passport as 'Parolled' and date as they normally do for indian passports.
Your advice is very helpful for me, thanks a lot.
Maybe you will have to restart your green card application after you enter US. Your current application may be invalid since you lost your Indian citizenship on which it was based.
Complety wrong answer, if you are not sure about something don't write may be answers those answers can make somebody sleepless.
Nothing will happen to your green card process, green card process is based on your country of birth.....it has nothing to do with your naturlized citizenship...
take care

Hello Kaki,
i am totally confused how can u apply for Canadian
citizenship if u have been working in US for so much
time i mean u must have been in US for atleast 2 years.
i am not sure if u live in Canada and work in US
Please let me know.
Looks like Khaki went around the system. Becuase in order to apply for a I485 you have to lived in the US for a minimum of 2 years. And trust me it is quite longer than 2 years.
So I am assuming the residency days he put on his canadian citizenship were not eactly right, or a little "exaggerated". If that is the case than I am sickened because people like them make it hard for the real people that have lived and paid their taxes in Canada and who are deserving of the Citizenship.

Not right at all . You could file a 485 AOS by coming to US just 1 day before you file it . All the AOS does is that you will be in the country till you get your GC ..

We will find a way or we will make one
