I have some VCD's which I want to save on the HDD of the computer. How do i do that? And can I burn them on a DVD?
I also would like to get a song ' Door gagan ki chaon mein '. It was a Kishore Kumar movie. Can someone help me with a mp3.
As regards Kishores da's classic - "Door gagan ki chaon me", I'd suggest put in a request on http://www.desitorrents.com" rel="nofollow">LINK It's a P2P site and hopefully someone will put it up for you.
You could also try the same site for details on how to convert VCD's to DVD, although I haven't done so personally, but I'm sure there's a way. I've converted mp3 to VCD and/or DVD. Try a goolge search 'VCD to DVD'
Goodluck....

To copy to the computer you just need to shove the VCD in a DVD drive & using windows explorer(assuming u r using windows OS) to whatever location on the hard disk you want.
What are you going to achieve by converting to DVD your source VCD anyway is not DVD quality recording. Anyways still if you want to do it
there are 2 options
1)There are softwares available free on the web which convert but I woudn't trust them.
2)Find a computer with composite or firewire or digital audio/video in(basically you need a high end video card on the computer) You can then play vcd in any player and hook up the o/p to i/p in the computer and using the software provided by the video card manufacturer can record it in DVD format.

Nothing will ever be attempted if all possible objections must first be overcome.
Use TMPGEnec (free limited version on the Net) to convert the DAT files to mpeg2/ mpeg1 and then burn the DVD directly using NERO or any other DVD writing/ editing software. This is the easy way….
However, a full version of TMPGEnec ($$) can convert a DAT directly to DVD format.
But practically speaking, VCD (mpeg1/2) quality is poor; therefore, converting a VCD to DVD is useless. Besides, during the DAT to Mpeg1/2 conversion the quality is further lost.
Bottom line:
Don't do it !
