i am landing in canada by the third week of august.i had this question in my mind that in place of suitcases and bags is it advisable to use cartons (wooden cartons) for utensils,and other such items. i am carrying 7 to 8 suitcases for clothes etc and sumone advised me to carry utensils and other items in cartons.i would like to know wheather this option is ok.i want your advise on this topic and any other such information related to this.thank you and please advise soon.

Economy class passengers to the NA continent are allowed only 2 bags/head & 32 Kgs/bag. So, IMO wooden boxes, because of its inherent weight, will not allow you to carry much; better go in for paper carton boxes. Also, ensure the linear dimension doesn’t exceed 158 cms (62 inches).
You could consider Air-Freight for bulky and/ or heavy bags/ cartons OR sea-cargo, depending on your budget and how soon you want the stuff to reach CA.
