My favorit festival is starting from today. Let us see how can I participate as you know the job pressure factor is so high.
May be can get opportunity to go Sanatan Mandir couple of times!
Well, We have been to Sanatan Mandir yesterday. We thought that today is first day and the madir is not nearby there should be few people, but we were wrong.
It was full of people. The quality of singing Group - Shiv Parivar was good and the players were also good, but the notbale thing was absent for youth. May be at the same time there were Garba from YGNet, and that might have created this.
But it was good to see people coming on first day. We stayed there for about half an hour have one round of three-tali and then came back to sleep at our regular time.

Where are Garba in Brampton area?
Abhi to sahi mein Garba/Dandiya khelna hai to Bombay, Gujrat ya India ke bahar jaana mangta. Yeh Kya time hai ... 10.00 baje Bandh...!!! Aadmi thaka haara 9.00 baje office se wapas aata hai. Ab koi naache kya aur nachaye kya. Phir yehi log bolenge ki aaj kal ke ladke (ladkiyan bhi shaamil hai) bharatiy sanskriti bhool rahe hai. Dharm se dur jaa rahe hai.
Toronto mein dekho ... roz 11.00 baje tak to khelte hi hai. Yahan ki public ke problems alag hote hai. Morning shift 7 - 8 baje chalu hoti hai (so they can't stay late) ... Afternoon wale 11.30pm khatam hoti hai (so they can't come) ... and Night waalo ka to puchhna hi kya ... Lekin ... kintu ... parntu ... Over Weekends we play late for sure ... even on Sharad Purnima.
I was in Dubai for almost 2 years, Navratri was even better ... Wahan pe to roz 1.00 bajte the ... aur weekends morning 4.00 ... That's something ... I don't know whome to blame for this mess in India. But that's really rediculous.

This is really interesting, but you are right, here we enjoy all festivals in better, controlled way - the way we want, where as in India we were totally crowed.
Yesterday we were at one temple and wathced that the garbas are more traditional than usually you see in Mumbai or Amadavad. We have feeling like we are attending Garba at Gozaria - my home village.
