Thanks group, information that you provide are really useful
I am planning to land in toronto on Sat Sep 10. Got my tickets confirmed today.
Need some advice based on your experience. I have the required funds in Savings account in HDFC bank. What form do i convert it (DD, TC, Cash) and in what ratio.
Will HDFC give me the best conversion or should i remove cash and go to SBI.
What about ICICI bank? Is that a good option?

Has anyone tried the ICICI Bank Newcomer's account ?
Does depositing money in this account prior to moving into Canada count as proof of funds ? If yes, what documents are required at the time of landing to show the account ?
Would appreciate any advice on this.
Also, whether the ICICI Newcomer's account or a DD, would be recommended.

How much of money in DD or travelers check do we have to show while landing for the 1st time?
Also, what other things apart from money is required to be shown at the port of entry? Do they ask any questions?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Good friend.
