It is Indian nature to complain & thereby they are able to sustain themselves in the face of adversity.
Rajan.

I think its human nature to complain.

The laborer at the end of the day says almost the same thing as the guy in the office....."Damn, i am tired today".

yeah bro rajan u r right on target but with just one exception that u should have written in ur post and that is
"If one has positive attitude towards tough life in Canada then he could do wonders even working as a labor"
and that is the msg I want to give to new immigrants coming on this land.

I was just replying to shah and I was talking bout BC, where most of the drug gangs are run by punjabis.
India is definately booming in IT industry. Last time I visited chandigarh, I came to know that dell is already there in IT park and google and satyam are expected soon.
But the thing is that as per my calculation India will not reach or maybe get even closer to the living stadards of Canada for atleast another 30yrs. and I will be 60 at that time. So I prefer living in Canada for rest of my life and cheers  to all who are with me here on this land or prefer living in India. So my msg to new immigrants is try ur luck here if u r young and dream of having a Big house with a swimming pool and a beer bar in it. lol and afcaurse be positive and don't curse canada at any moment of life, because it is the place that gave u shelter for another yrs to come..................

Average Indian doesnt have much too.

Howveer, people are getting into debt in India faster than you would like to believe.
In cities at least, they are buying everything on credit. From Electronics to cars to houses.

Credit rules supreme.

bro how many desis u met here who are very good in english, I admit that Indian level of english is better then canadians (I had also written this in my previous posts, please read them in ur spare time). If someone is working 70% harder then back home then he is the one who is getting reward for it.

Duncan,

Every Indian who came forth me in last 10 years was very clear in his conversation skills in English, believe me I am saying each & every Indian, except some housewives & mothers & also believe me doing a labor job takes u nowhere. yes, u can have car & nice & clean roads & pure water to drink with it. If that is what you want to have at the end of your day.

I have seen people going for universities, easily getting OSAP for that & at the end of course...you are nowhere... as u have canadian education but not canadian experience.
Those who are already engineers, they have already spent years & money on their education. U said in 1 of your threads, the immigration officer didn't invite you...yes he didn't, it is totally our decision to come here but we were issued visa after seeing our qualification which implies that we are somthing & after coming here the picture is totally different.

Engineers, managers can't upgrade after coming here, they have resposibility of their family so the first thing they do is find a odd job to survive & thats it there he is stuck with that forever.

Frustration is but natural after going thro' such a stress, it is not only INDIAN habit but everyone who is qualified & had a better job in their country tend to complain. At least I have seen no Indians are trying to earn money in wrong way. They all are working hard though not very happy to do that.

It really depends on the individual, some can take it, others can't. Can't go back so frustrate & complain. There might be some like me that one fine day after 10 years decide to just leave for good.

Duncan, go thro this article.

Everyone, 'skype' is great way of talking to family, read the last sentence of the article.

Everybody wishing to migrate to Canada from India now has to give the IELTS test for English. So points are given based on the fluency you have.

That should not be a cause for concern now, Duncan. Ofcourse, in these tests one cannot get more marks by getting papers leaked or passing on money to the examiner.

Hence you get a chance to come to Canada only if you have good or excellent command over English.

Thanks & regards.

Rajan.

yeah brother I had already admitted in my last post that IT industry in India is making a booooooooom. But the only reason I still say of BOP industry prefering India is because of cheap labor. freshers are ready to loose their voice and sleep for 10k per month, with no other jobs availaible.
and as far as IELTS is concerned I must say that please read the articles in Immigration section, most of the posts related to IELTS will say for me. most of Immigrants scores between 10-12pts for IELTS. and one needs to have 7 band in each module for 16pts.
In the end I will still prefer to live in Canada. And as the health is concerened I think that non of the Indian govt or pvt employers give health insurance, u have to get it done urself. and the tax which is deducted here in canada is worth paying it. you will have ur health, pension, unemployment fund, children education all secured. I love Canada.
