Hi
I am in the process of finalizing a used car deal. I have several mazda 626 cronos in my radar, both private & dealers.
- Is it a good dependable car?
- Is it a economical car to maintain?
- How about fuel efficiency?
Any feedback from CD members about Mazda 626 cronos would be appereciated.
Thanx

I do not know of Mazda cars but it would be better if you clarify the following so that you get a response you can actually use.
1. What is the year of manufacturing
2. General Condition ( clean / no rust etc / tires / trim / colour etc )
3. AC - Non AC/ Auto Transmission or Manual
4. KMS run - mileage on the odometer
5. Single owner or how many
All these factors will together be considered to evaluate any car.
My advice would be go for a late model car, i.e. year 2000 -2001 onwards.

Non illigitamus carborundum
Mazda 626 is a good car & highly underrated.

Nothing will ever be attempted if all possible objections must first be overcome.
Mostly the mazdas that I am seeing are within 1993-95, with milage of 180K - 215K, and with multiple owners.
The cars look clean from outside, are either manual or auto, but some of the reviews in the internet says some very bad things about mazdas.
And yes, being a new immigrant, I am not very keen to go in for a late model, because its beyond my reach presently.
Looking forward to some more feedbacks.
Thanx

Ford owns Mazda. The cars are manufactured by Ford.

AFAIK the cars are stillmade by Mazda.
And having owned a Ford in the recent past, I dont think quality is a major issue - the way it may have been in the 80s.
626 is a good car. Go ahead and buy it.
Most mazda cars have rotatry powered engines giving better mileage than most cars. Dont compare it with toyota and honda though. Its in a class of its own.
My car is sitting at 330K (manual) and still the mileage is great and on my good days lives a honda accord panting behind.
