HE MUST BE MAKING LOT OF MONEY.

If he is making a lot of money, what stopped you from making money. He is also the same human being as we all are. SO when he can make money why not others.
Because, "He" was smart enough to realize that degrees/experience did not pay and switched over to where he saw he could make money. Nothing wrong with it.
It is the problem with many people who are stuck in between , who ridicule such self made entrepreneurs.
I repeat, If is making money ,what is stopping anybody from doing the same .

I guess you applied to come here so you must have done some homework and then decided to proceed. I assume this as applying ti immigrate costs quite a bit back home.

More people you ask more confusing it gets. In a nutshell it is not easy to settle here so you will have to work very hard. You will have to market yourself. It will take some time. You will have to maintain a balance between money you have and time in hand. Come and experience it yourself. Every body's experience is unique in nature.

There is already another mercury who has been on this board for quite a while.

Please change your ID, else it will lead to confusion. Then the smaller mercury(smaller because it has a lower case 'm') :D will get pelted for using multiple aliases!:)

mercury6,
you have referred atee to read, ' canadian experience page'. I am afraid it will make him more confused and depressed as there are more negative thoughts . .:(

ptm

Reading your various posts, I am now really confused. You say that the articles contain negative thoughts about Canada, at the same time at other places you say that you have been mistaken for finding Canada a bed of roses. You were here but went back, and you had to go thru a mental torture to decide what to do when you were on the verge of losing your PR.

Why don't you once and for all put your own thoughts about Canada from your perspective. Do you still want to live in Canada if it was possible? If yes, why? Or are you convinced that your decision to leave your PR was good for you? If yes, why?

Let's for once hear your own experiences, evaluations and personal opinion about Canada for you, not for others.

Atee,

by the way i suggest you to take a shot and move to canada wholeheartedly . after all you got this visa after long wait .

ptm

Yup, Atee , Listen to ptm & go for it since you have already spent major time & money. And the decision to whether immigrate to Canada or NOT ,should have been before applying for it .

It is true that \\\" Zaada sochne se iraada kamzor ho jata hai\\\"

It means \\\" Too much contemplation weakens your Aim\\\"

On lighter note, if you don't go to Canada , see your future in Mr. ptm,
who is physically in Delhi but unka Dil, Dimag aur Atma , Canada mai hai;)

Choice is yours, Wish you Good Luck

Atif , DON'T QUIT YOUR JOB. Come here with your family , get your PR card , enjoy a Canadian vaction , get yourself an address in Canada (friend , etc.) , file for and get your CCTB , NCBS benefits start being deposited in your bank account and GO BACK TO LAHORE. Wait for 3 years , come back again , get your citizenship and go back again. When your kids are old enough to go to college , send them over here. When you retire come over here and get your OAS and GIS. Live happily ever after.

DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE OF TRYING TO LIVE HERE. You are going to have a tough life in Canada with three kids. You will be forced to rent a dingy basement apartment and work in miserable 8 dollars an hour jobs. Your kids will hate you for making them give up a good lifestyle for THIS.

Glossary of terms....

CCTB - Canada child tax benefit , you can get 1200 Canadian dollars per year for every child under 18.
NCBS - National Child benefit supplement - An additional 1100 dollars per year per child.
OAS - Old age security Upto 400 dollars per month for any Canadian over 65. Minimum 10 years residence required. (use friends address)
GIS - Guaranteed income supplement available to OAS recipients with low income.
