Hi all CD,
I have one query,that person on close work permit is eligible to get OHIP or not?I heard from my friend that close work permit people can have helth card and rightnow i am on co-op work permit.So it would be great if somebody through light on this topic.

Yes, you are eligible for Health Card on Closed work permit.
Contact your nearest Health card issuing centre for more details.

Sidenote : One of my friend is a software engr. on closed work permit. He has OHIP card. But i am not sure of what is meant by Co-Op work permit. Is your work permit closed or open? (if you are in Co-op)

u cant get the card on a co-op work permit...
but u can get it on a post graduation work permit..
u can call ohip and confirm..
i have done it....
so i m sure..
but just go ahead and ask....

u can call them..and they will ask u for the number on ur work permit.... so keep it with u wen u call...

yes, you are eligible to get OHOP for post-gradate work permit and HRDC approved work permits (closed).

Just go there along with your proof of address, passport and work-permit. These are the documents they need to accept your application. Still check on their website.
