These employers should start hiring in Canada. They will get the best people at the lowest rates and will be loyal to the employers all their life.

OOps! this thread was on Professionals. Sorry they have to look south of the border.

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....

"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"

Lowest rates? Loyal? No sir - not here, in Western Canada, atleast.

And I'm talking about professionals here - atleast IT that I know of. I'm an IT professional, and I'm proud and happy to be in the North of the border.

Employee retention is a big challenge anywhere. I do agree about the original posting, though. We Indians need to be more professional when it comes to declining a job offer. You never know - you may have to knock the same doors again in the future!

This is a classic case of whining by employers. Most Indian employers are thriving on exploiting cheap labor that too by not paying overtime. They are taking the profits they got from their indian operations to hire chinese (surprisingly at higher salaries than indians with the same experience).

I could not agree more on this. Indian companies are used to cheap labour (getting highly qualified people at less salaries). The population in India is a factor in this. People from small cities / towns land up in the Metros and join the first job that they can lay their hands on. So, they are exploited by companies.

However, people getting multiple job offers are not professional in declining a job offer.

Ayaskant.
