Why I should I give up for I haven’t said anything unparliamentary or offensive, unlike ON. I am very sorry, that this serious discussion has degenerated into a street-end tea shop gossip. Again I will try to put back some sanity, although I am not sure whether I am throwing stones on stagnant water.
My line of thinking is this. The law enforcing authorities and anti terrorism wing in every city are straining every nerve to ensure that no fanatic should sneak in and make a terror strike. Even with all this, they cannot be 100% certain but only hope and pray that things go alright. Please consider the fact that all the postings are read by all sorts of people on the net. The terrorist does not enter into a debate but reveals himself/herself only by their strikes. He should not think “I have a list, but I like Ottawa more than any other city”. This way we are not helping the authorities in any way but only creating more problems for them.
Just to avoid writing such a lengthy dissertation sent this ancient Tamil proverb which conveys the entire meaning in just 12 Tamil letters. Cannot but admire the beauty of my mother tongue, before which the hurt caused by ON is nothing.

Your suggestions are based on fear(with a dash of political correctness). This is exactly what has led to the current situation. This line of thinking only encourages the fundamentalist islamists. Note that their only goal is the prevalance and domination of Islam ABOVE all religions/people/system...not just getting the Americans out of Iraq/ Afghanistan etc. Towards this goal they also consider it acceptable to kill other muslims. Infact more muslims have been killed by other muslims than by Americans or the jews. Terrorism in Iraq, egypt, afghanistan and other muslim countries are examples.
Note that I am not encouraging anti-muslim propaganda. The problem is that people think the only alternative to political correctness is the other end...right-wing nationalism/extremism. It seems foolish to me to replace racist ideology with another brand of the same.
I AM encouraging anti-supremacism(christian/hindu/muslim/jewish etc...of these, currently, the greatest threat seems to be from the islamic terrorists). I think the only solution is that violent islamic fundamentalism/facism becomes less acceptable in mainstream islam than it currently is. Unfortunately, due to our political correctness and fear, that facist brand of islam has acheived a string of propaganda victories and appeal. This only attracts impressionable youth to that supremacist/inflexible ideology.

Anyway back to your link. You can see that most of the questions for the Dr. seem to come from ppl who have bought into another kind of propaganda. Its easy for any reasonable human being to refute that line of thought.
However the good Dr. will find it hard to refute the fact that unlike the irish terrorists or the sikh terrorists the aims of alqaeda and friends is more global. They do capitalize on local events to manipulate them and justify their 'global' cause. The Khalistanis, IRA etc did not seek to subvert and impose their values on democratic countries. Their goals were less ambitious, though their methods no less henious. However, the fact still is that they were/are a smaller threat compared to the militant islamic supremacist, who will use events from all over to justify their global jihad over secular democracies. They are absolutely convinced that secular democracies are inferior to Islamic Ideology. The only previous such threat was from communism. The only difference I see between what the communists wanted is that the 'state' would replace the 'mullah'. The end result was the same...to squelch free thought and dissent inorder to further an ideology.
My wish is that 'moderates' step upto the plate to unconditionally reject this alqaeda line of thinking. They do not seem to be doing so, they infact seem to be using the militants to further their own cause(which seems to be close to that of the militants...I'd love to be wrong). Regarding the piece on Unionleader.com, it may be possible in Britan to distinguish the trouble makers from the majority of the citizens. In Indian conditions it is next to impossible. It is said that as many 20 million illegal migrants from neighbouring countries live in India. By appearance, by language we are all similar. It will be better to form a confederation of SAARC countries and do away with the artificial divide. This will isolate the radical elements. Like Germany, in the Indian sub continent too there is hardly any ill will between people of various countries.
