I am looking for info on good schools in Bangalore. Upto 10th or 12th grade. Preferably within the city.

Here are a few - you didn't mention if it was boys or girls (or coed):

Bishop Cotton
Blr Intl School - lots of rich brats; not the best environment?
Mt Carmel - think it's a school as well.

It does not matter whether girls or coed.
More interested towards convent schools. IMO, they are much better than the international schools. Some intl schools have teachers who are not trained to do the job.

Indus valley? Never heard of it. Any idea abt it?

Indus valley is also one of those schools for the rich, I think. Not really the place to get an education.

I agree with your opinion on convent type schools.

The other three would be more along the lines of what you're looking for. They're all good schools.

Delhi Public School has a Blr branch, though I'm not sure of the quality.

DPS has a branch in Bangalore on the outskirts. Last year a friend of ours paid Rs. 50k for admission for a 5th grade class. Not to mention long journey from the city to the school, 45 minutes one way.
