Hi,
My mother is coming from Delhi this Sunday. Is there any one who parents or some one is coming the same day? Please let me know.
She is traveling for the first time and that too alone. she doesn't understand English at all. Traveling till Toronto will hopefully not be a problem as she is coming from Air India and there will be many Indians, but the problem is when she will arrive in Toronto, means luggage pickups and route to come out.
any kind of help or guidance?
is it possible that we can enter the airport to help her. any sort of pass or something which can let us in.
thanks,
Monika

hello!
Monika,
I do not know of any pass that will let you in due to security reasons. But if she is coming by AI, she will have quite a few Indians onboard. All she needs to do is follow the crowd till the belt and locate her baggage. Pl advise her to carry some Canadian dollars as she can get a trolley from the potters as she walks out of the Aircraft to the belt.($2 probably)
After baggage collection there is only one way out from terminal three and she needs to follow the crowd again.
At Birmingham she might have to come out with her hand baggage. So keeping a light hand baggage will help.
I hope there is some one who has a relative travelling on that day and who responds. If not do not worry pl ask people who are coming to drop her off at the Indian airport to find some one travelling by the same flight.
I had my mother visiting my brother in Birmingham recently. We were very worried but other Indians passangers onboard were a big big help.
Pl convey her wishes for a safe trip.
Hi Bablooajnabi,
Many thanks. After reading your reply its a relief!
Yes, we have advised her not to carry any hand baggage except some documents and stuff.
Thanks
Monika

Hi Monika,
I am not sure about this but....there are some services for children who travel alone without their parents to be taken care off by the airline there is a special fee for this. The airline takes care until they are handed over to their loved ones.Probably something like that can be of help for ur mom.And for sure the other pax's who are traveling can be of great help.
cheers
