The president of Medical Council of India, Ketan Desai was arrested with three others in connection with alleged transaction of Rs 2 crore to recognise a Punjab based private medical college. There are more than ten medical colleges under scanner that were given permission by MCI.

Kangress and SC in collusion have made access to higher education by so called "higher caste" students impossible. Under Kangress and MMS , people like Ketan Desai have flourished and exploited middle class people.
Ketan desai was so vicious that if someone would not toe his line , he would take revenge on his kids if they are enrolled in medicine program.
He should be behind bar for the rest of life but I guess MMS and his cronies will find some way to let him off the hook.
I am appalled by the level of dishonesty shown by Ketan Desai. Just like Harshad Mehta, this guy has brought shame to Gujarati community.
He is also the president-elect of World Medical Association

Sad fact is, this might be just a tip of iceberg, or he may be just being used as scapegoat. Also, given the huge Indian population, doctors with scrupulous or paid foreign degrees (from China, Ukraine), I feel queasy about going to an unknown doctor in India.
I hope he gets the punishment he deserves and languishes in jail for remainder of his life and that he does not commit suicide or dies of heart attack (like Ken Lay)

He flourished under Kangress rule. I do not agree with your statement that he broght shame to Gujarati community. It is just an accident that he happens to be Gujarati. Corrupt person does not belong to any community. I am little disappointed that you never made this kind of statement for A.Raja (Rs. 60,000 Crore scamster and crony of Karunanidhi) or MMS who is providing safe harbor to him.
In license permit quota Raj, corruption flourishes in full bloom. Ketan Desai is symptom. Real problem is dirty politics of reservation propagated by even more dirty V.P. Singh and followed by Indian people. It is a real shame.
If anyone had any doubt whether any harm had happened to the scam culture of the UPA or to the scamsters, they can rest assured after watching this debate.

The MCI only seems to be only acting as porters for suitcases changing hands for granting approval to start medical colleges. Quality medical education is the start for quality health care and thus the health care and well being of 1.3 billion is being shredded to pieces by one wolf pack after another.
