I dont think its common anywhere in the world for a father and son to marry the same person, however India is the only country in teh world where polyandry is documented (Polyandry is one woman married to multiple husbands). This is in a tribal-north west part of india.

Secondly, I did not mean that every employer marries their staff. Where did I say that?

Third, do you think this man was sex starved because he is 60 years old? What if he was just looking for companionship or someone to be with in his old age? he might be lonely as his son is abroad.

How do you know that other Canadians in India dont get cheated in other ways, or they do?

Do you also judge women who wear short shorts and tank tops as 'easy"? do you think caucasian women are loose because they are white/what hollywood protrays?? Would you let your daughter go to nightclubs when she turns 18?

The mark of a truly educated person is one who can understand that people are all different and can critically analyze. What you value isnt necessarily what the next person values.

Well Said

Technically, this was not polyandry since she divorced the first man (the "father" ) before marrying the second man (the "son" ).
Also, if polyandry in tribal communities is being considered, India is not the only country in modern times.
Several tribes in sub-saharan Africa, and some Amazonian tribes exhibit polyandry.

I stand corrected. Wikipedia says:

Polyandry in human relationships occurs or has occurred in Saskatchewan Canada, Tibet, Canadian Arctic, northern parts of Nepal, Bhutan, parts of India (Ladakh, Zanskar), the Nymba, and Sri Lanka[citation needed], and is known to have been present in some pre-contact Polynesian societies,[2] though probably only among higher caste women.[3] It is also encountered in some regions of Mongolia, among the Mosuo people in China, and in some Sub-Saharan African such as the Maasai people in Kenya and northern Tanzania[4] and American indigenous communities. Polyandry has been practiced in several cultures — in the Jaunsar region in Uttarakhand, among the Nairs, Theeyas and Toda of South India, and the Nishi of Arunachal Pradesh[citation needed]. The Guanches, the first known inhabitants of the Canary Islands, practiced polyandry until their disappearance.[citation needed] In other societies, there are people who live in de facto polyandrous arrangements that are not recognized by the law. Saskatchewan Canada is the only jurisdiction in North America to have "sanctioned" at a family court level polyandrous unions.

I also agree this woman's situation is not polyandry. Its more of a 'serial monogamy'. I was attempting to point out that a woman may marry more than one person in circumstances like polyandry.
