Hello All,

I have submited the similar post last year and was following solution i leared from this Charcha.

I would really appriciate of you can share your expecrience or provide me guideline about how to proceed in following Scenario.

I applied for my parents Sponsership in 2007. Sponshership was approved in 2010. At that time my Parents were visiting the Canada. So I decided to process their file while they are in Canada considering some feedback from other people that the file can be process while you are in Canada.

Recently , I have received the Medical examination for my parents. :). Canadian High Commision also ask us to submit the passport for the Visa Staming. But in letter I found the notice that they will only deliver the passport to the address in India,Bhutan and Nepal. So I have to provide the address in India for Passport. :(

I am really puzzled now. How should I move forward? Should I go ahead and complete medical in Canada ? I am thinking to call the CIC Call center about asking the advise. How should Passport will be stamped?

Does any one of you pass through similar situation ? or Do you have any advice about taking next steps ?

Any Immigration expert in the Charcha who can answer the question?

Your help will be really appriciated.

Ulkesh

I was in similar situation before 6 years. I had applied for PR from India. (not sponsorship).

I was in USA when CIC asked for medical and passport for VISA stamp.
I had completed medical in USA and sent passport to CIC delhi.

CIC had sent my passport with VISA to my india adress and my parent sent back to me in USA. I moved from USA to Canada.

So, in your case I believe you can go for medical anywhere in the world.

You can sent your passport to Delhi if you have all required document (such as police clearance if CIC asked). Someone must be in india to receive passport on provided address.

The biggest risk is the post/courier. If passport lost/missed in intenational post/courier, you may end up in big trouble. Also, please note that some courier company / POST officially may not receive your passport for sending to out of country.

Thanks,

FYI - Per "Indian passport Act 1967", it's against the law to send passport outside country of residence by regular mail, express post, courier etc. There are a few who successfully did it though, but if caught in India, they will cancel the passport, file case etc. Safer option is to send it through some one you know travelling.

I think you get wrong information. It is perfectly legal to send indian passport by courier from abroad to india under the condition when a embassy wants it for stamping. One cannot send passport to private address. In fact DHL etc will only accept passports to be send via coriour if addresses to embassy address with request letter.
I was in same situation. I apply from delhi under point based system. After 6-7 years my process starts. By that time I was in UK & have infact told about my mailing UK address to CHC delhi. They send me medical request. I did in UK. Then they send passport request with request to provide Indian address for thier posting after stamping
I send my passport using DHL services via post from UK to delhi. DHL put the photocopy of passport request letter over the courior.
Once passport reaches delhi. The CHC stamped and post to my indian parent address.
Meanwhile I send a passport carrying authorization letter ( its is plain letter ) in name of my father. My father come on visit visa to UK. He had my passport and authorization letter of mine with him.
So then from UK I migrated to canada
