I became very sad after reading this news. I do not know how many years it takes to improve some basic things to prevent such tragedies in India.

This isn't the first first time.. There have been such tragedies since many years.. sometimes they don't become a news topic.

Same day when they got the kid's body out, a 15 yr old boy Roshan fell in an open borewell in WB (now didi will blame the communists). He had gone to fetch water, slipped and fell. The rescue opn was a joke with no one knowing what to do. There is also a supreme court order that all unused and open borewells need to be covered. Does anyone in the country bother to listen to the supreme court, that too in villages? They have no idea. In fact the officials dont have any clue abt rules/regulations or supreme court orders. When the Mahi rescue opns were going on, the Haryana state officials sat in the tent near the borewell and sipping tea/chatting. That was an awful sight to watch.
