Just download XBMC and some Video Add-ons. You will never have to download, buy, or rent the movies and shows EVER again.

Disconnected my Netflix last month. Was about to disconnect my cable, but realized my parents rely upon the Indian channels and not quite comfortable with computers. So, it remains.

I am not sure if any of the streams on XBMC stream audio in 5.1 or 7.1 quality..I may be mistaken though.

But I have watched DVD and Bluray rip movies on XBMC with my home theater.. sounds good to me as a layman.

I am an audiophile, but considering I am getting the content absolutely free makes up more for it . It sounds ok to me when using Home theatre. If there comes a really good movie with great visual effects (Gravity), I either watch it in theater or BDRIP from Torrents.
