Like Chandresh already stated in a thread for Accounting and Tax professionals, now it is time to start some focus groups.

So we are calling a meeting for IT Professionals (Software, Hardware, Networking, Graphics etc.) on Sunday 25 July 2004 between 3.00 PM to 5.00 PM.

As a part of CanadianDesi's ongoing effort to build a strong South Asian Immigrant base we with help of CCSYR are arranging a first group meeting of IT professionals. This meeting is to help and build South Asian IT Profeesional's network. It is for helping members to build various skills and get information on various apects on becoming a successful IT professional in Canada.

This programe is conducated by CanadainDesi and Ms. Kala Vora of CCSYR. As you know our programs are completely FREE. You will get a chance to meet with other IT professionals - many already settled in the field, prospect employers, improving their communication skills, interview skills and learning Canadian culture which leads to a prosperous profession in Canada based on their abilities.

The language of instructions would be English and Hindi.

What events we can arrange? There are many possibilities.

Calling industry experts to our meetings
Organizing Seminars
Creating a Resume Banks
Inviting recruiters to post their jobs on CanadianDesi
Organizing recruitment fairs

This first meeting will be for discussing general things and have opinions from members about the proceedings. We have to decide where we want to take this.

It seems that there is no enough interest for this meeting. I thought there are so many IT professionals on this board that it should get good response.

May be summer or it could be so many meetings in short period of time.

For now I am postponing this meeting. If IT guys are really interested in having this meeting, please express your opinion on what should be good time to arrange this one.

Thanks.

IMO the response is poor from the IT guys because perhaps comparatively there are not as many in this field who have not been able to get gainful employment. But then, as I said, that's just my opinion.
