The laptop screen gives no glare and is smooth for the eyes. However, the desk-top LCD monitor gives a slight glare. I think its because i have not adjusted the parameters properly - possibly the contrast / brightness.

Appreciate any simple ways of achieving a balance towards this glare reduction in the desktop LCD. THANKS

You say you have not been able to adjust the contrast/brightness properly.
What is stopping you from doing just that? I mean, please go ahead and adjust the contrast/brightness using the controls provided, and continue to adjust till the contrast/brightness suits your liking?
