Mumbai, Feb 14 (IANS) The Bachchans, known for their spiritual inclination, took time out from their busy schedule to visit the SiddhiVinayak temple here to take Lord Ganesha's blessings. Amitabh Bachchan, wife Jaya, son Abhishek, and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Wednesday left their residence in Juhu around 7.45 p.m. and reached SiddhiVinayak temple around 8.30 p.m. This is not the first time that the entire family has gone to the SiddhiVinayak temple. Earlier, the entire family even walked from Juhu to SiddhiVinayak temple. -*- Aamir praises Kathryn Bigelow Kathryn Bigelow "Zero Dark Thirty" has impressed Indian actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan so much that he describes the Oscar winning director as "a brave woman". "She is a very brave woman to have made a film on such a politically sensitive and controversial topic. Not many people (even male filmmakers) would have the courage and conviction to do so," Aamir said in a statement. "Zero Dark Thirty" chronicles the decade-long hunt for Al Qaeda leader Osama after the September 2001 attacks and his death at the hands of the Navy SEAL Team 6 in Abbotabad, near Pakistan capital Islamabad, in May 2011. Aamir admits she deserved to be nominated for the best director Oscar, but added: "I am a great admirer of Katheryn Bigelow's work and feel that any filmmaker or director who is true to his/her craft should not take seriously the validation they do or don't receive from any award committee and jury." Aamir himself tries to stay away from award shows. "Fact is that I have no objections to film awards per se. I just feel that if I don't value a particular film award, then I won't attend it either. Apart from the national award, I don't see any other award ceremony that I should give value to. My personal experience about these award ceremonies is that I don't trust them. I have no faith in them so I would prefer to stay away," he said. -*- Neil's films in US academy's film course? The International Academy of Film and Television in Los Angeles is reportedly set to introduce a chapter in its course on edgy Bollywood films and they have expressed a desire to introduce actor Neil Nitin Mukesh's movies in it. Among the other films introduced in the course, the academy has expressed their desire to include Neil's "Johnny Gaddar", "7 Khoon Maaf" and "David". They also said to have extended an invitation to the actor to personally introduce the films at the university. "Neil has always been part of edgy cinema in Bollywood, he has always explored and excelled in grey shades. He had been an AD (assistant director) and understands the aspect of filmmaking not just as an actor but other perspective as well," said a source. "Amongst younger actors he is the only one who has explored some exciting new age edgy cinema and also has sound knowledge of other aspects of film making thus making him a suitable choice to introduce the Edgy cinema Bollywood chapter at the academy," the source added.
