Panjabi MC goes Bollywood way

New Delhi, Feb 18 (IANS) Musician Panjabi MC, known for popular song "Mundiya tu bachke", has created a new song for Y-Films' "Mere Dad Ki Maruti". The song "Haaay!" will feature in the movie's opening credits.

"Haaay!" is sung by Manake, with rap by Panjabi MC himself. It will be played during the introduction of the two leads of the movie - Saqib Saleem and Rhea Chakraborty.

"It was a fantastic experience to score for Yash Raj Films, Bollywood's biggest studio. The song 'Haaay!' from 'Mere Dad Ki Maruti' came to me with a very clear brief, so it was easy and a lot of fun for me to compose this track," Panjabi MC said in a statement.

"Also, given that the story is set in Chandigarh, scoring Punjabi music is second nature to me," he added.

The film releases March 15.

'I Me Aur Main' role helped Prachi reinvent herself

Actress Prachi Desai calls her role in 'I Me Aur Main' her favourite as she not only got to play her age, but helped her to reinvent herself too.

"This is my most favourite role. I get to play my own age and play something which is close to the person I am. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It is a light-hearted part. I totally think that I am reinventing myself through this film," she said.

"I got to loosen up. There were no instructions. This role has been a huge blessing for me in personal as well as professional life," she added.

Directed by Kapil Sharma, the film also features John Abraham and Chitrangada Singh.
